Plant Trainer & NVQ Assessor

Salary: £38,400 – £48,000 per year

Position: Plant Trainer & NVQ Assessor

Our client is the market leader in safety training, with a group turnover of £10m.They are looking for a Plant Trainer. In the role of a Plant Trainer, you will be delivering a front-line service to our clients, based on their training requirements.

Key Responsibilities: 

Trainer

• Identify learners’ needs
• Provide learners with training at a level and pace to suit their needs
• Keep themselves up to date with current legislation
• Undertake all necessary preparation, administration and assessment associated with the training
• Provide appropriate learning support to enable effective learning
• Participate in the planning and improvement of course programmes
• As a plant trainer you we be training on Dumper, Roller, 360 Excavator, Telehandler and other items of plant subject to your knowledge and experience

Tester

• Work to the CPCS/NPORS code of delivery for practical and theory tests
• Work to the CPCS/NPORS scheme rules

Assessor

• Prepare NVQ candidates for assessment in their workplace
• Assess NVQ candidates in their workplace
• Provide NVQ candidates with feedback from assessment
• Assist NVQ candidates in portfolio preparation
• Provide NVQ candidates and others with underpinning knowledge
• Provide candidates with appropriate information, advice and guidance to facilitate their learning and offer routes of progression or information about additional qualifications when requested or if identified as being required
• Undertake all necessary preparation, administration and assessment associated with support of NVQ candidates
• Continually review NVQ candidates’ progress and assist in action planning to promote their learning
• Provide appropriate learning support to enable effective assessment
• Participate in the planning and implementation of schemes of assessment
• Participate in enrolment and induction of NVQ candidates onto programmes
• Provide up to date information related to the role of NVQ Assessor to the Internal Verifier and Quality team

• Devise personal professional development activities
• Participate in appraisal schemes
• Participate in self-assessment activities including observation of learning sessions if needed

The Person:

• Education/Certification:
  • Will hold all relevant certificates of training in their specific area of training
  • Hold an A1 or D32/D33 certificate and have willingness to work towards V1 certificate

• Experience:
  • Have a wide knowledge and working experience of the industry relevant to the course(s) they train on and a minimum of 5 years occupational work experience pertinent to the qualifications that they are able to train in
  • A proven assessment track record and experience of holding a caseload of more than 40 + learners

Hours: 8.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday (Standard office Hours)

The successful candidate will have a flexible approach to working hours as travel to training venues nationwide and overnight stays will be required to fulfil the role.

Salary: £32,000 to £40,000 subject to experience
