Hospitality & Catering Trainer / Assessor (Foh with Cooking Experience)

Babcock is one of the UK’s largest training providers offering government funded Apprenticeships and providing work-based learning in the Hospitality industry.

We are looking to expand our Work-Based Learning team and are seeking a suitable candidate who is looking to become a Hospitality & Catering Trainer/Assessor and join our team, ideal candidate location for this role would be Pulborough, Horsham, Crawley to be able to cover the Central Sussex area.

The position is a full-time, permanent role of 35 hours per week. The role is field based and would consist of travelling to various Hospitality & Catering establishments in the Central Sussex area in order to assess and coach learners through their Hospitality NVQ/QCF qualifications. You’ll therefore need to live somewhere easily accessible to this region and be prepared to travel within it using your own car.

You will be required to take a caseload of approximately 45 learners where you will have regular meetings to support them through the qualification process. This will involve regular visits to the learners’ place of employment as well as remote support.

For this vacancy we are looking for strong Hospitality & Catering professionals who specifically have solid Front of House experience (Bar Service/ Food Service/ Customer Service), ideally with some Back of House involvement (Chef/ Cook) in order to deliver Hospitality Services, Food & Beverage L2, Food Production and Cooking Qualifications L2. Strong experience at supervisory/deputy management or management level is essential for this role as well as GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent. All Catering and Front of House professionals (with hands on experience) would make ideal candidates, including those that have experience of work based learning.

A DBS (formerly CRB) check prior to commencement of role will be required.

A starting salary of £26,000(rising to £20,910 after probationary period)
