Due to their continued expansion, success in the market and internal promotions an urgent need for an Application Engineer to work within Ignition Component and Powertrain Engineering team

The Role:
As the Application Engineer you will provide engineering support within ignition components for customers across Europe. You will work with customers across automotive, motorcycle and co-generation fields. The role will develop capabilities to include other areas of Powertrain such as; ignition coil, glow plug and motorcycle ignition systems.

The role will also include:

* Opportunity to travel regularly to the European customer base, and occasionally to the Powertrain and ignition component manufacturing plants headquartered in APAC.
* You will be given responsibility for developing component specification and design to meet customer requirements
* Ability to manage new business opportunities and sourcing discussions
* Maintaining an overview of all component projects and supporting sales engineers in any engineering tasks
* Providing on-site test support for validation testing and writing test reports

The Person:
As the Application Engineer you will have a good background within Powertrain engineering, you should have relevant experience within engines and combustions. You will also have a Mechanical Engineering background with strong technical understanding.

* HNC /Degree in Engineering / Mechanical / Automotive or equivalent experience
* A strong background within engine development/design or test is required
* Knowledge of ignition or electronic hardware/physics would be beneficial.
* German language skills will be hugely advantageous
* Ability to demonstrate the production of project plans
* Must be able to plan and specify any resources required to complete work.
