Responsible for the design, development and maintenance of a market leading buildings services for The company and its customers, Also, to control indemnity costs to ensure loss ratios are market leading and customers enjoy highly competitive premiums. Manage the resources at your disposal to deliver efficient claims handling costs compared to the other regions.

Continuously build high performance culture within the surveying department by recruiting, developing and monitoring performance of staff members (direct reports), Network Surveyors, Building Contractors, and any other Building related suppliers in your care (region) to ensure they are working effectively to deliver market leading cost control and excellent customer service.

In conjunction with the Senior Management Team (SMT) develop and implement a strategy that delivers market leading service to customers (within the confines of the insurance policy), which minimises the complains and enhances The company Claims reputation (measured on Google and Trustpilot) as top service provider in the industry.

Control indemnity costs (for building claims in your area) to minimise leakage and maximise buying power in order to protect customers competitive premiums position.

Constantly monitor costs and customer service levels for your area (compared to other The company Regions) in order to continuously improve performance through; people, suppliers and processes.

Manage the resources at your disposal to deliver efficient claims handling costs, by collecting and analysing data collected through various reports, such as surveyor daily, weekly and monthly productivity reports.

Maximise right-first-time outcomes, with specific measurement against internal referrals, contractor complaints, re-work due to poor initial surveyor or contractor scoping activity.

Management of Technical Surveyors and freelance Surveyors to ensure quality and accuracy (right first time) of inspections and reports and adherence to SLA’s

Recruit, develop and monitor Technical Surveyors to ensure that they are capable of making correct buildings claims decisions in a timely manner

Where appropriate, conduct site visits to actively manage customer claims, manage complaints or conduct post or mid-repair Building Contractor audits

Oversee and monitor the provision and quality of technical advice on buildings insurance claims provided by Technical Surveying Advisors and Regional Technical Surveyors.

Experience / knowledge

At least 5 years’ experience within the industry in a similar role

Has proven record for successful scaling up of a team without sacrifice of quality measured outcomes

 Qualifications

Tertiary education with qualifications in a relevant discipline.

Clean driver’s license.

Ideally, a certificate level qualification in management.
