Salary: TBC – depending on experience brought to the role.

12 MONTH FIXED TERM EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT – COVERING MATERNITY LEAVE – with possible further month by month extensions or other full time opportunities within the company, for the right candidate. 

Our customer is a global strategic engineering and environmental consultancy that specialises in the transport, energy and scarce resources sectors and they are currently seeking to hire a motivated Business Analyst as maternity cover for a member of their central Business Systems team.

This will be an initial 12-month contract with the possibility of a rolling month-by-month extension thereafter. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a candidate who can focus on the technical delivery of the role not on project management or project control skills.

The Business Analyst will focus on analysing, defining and realising the business intelligence requirements of the PP business. This will be done by optimising the information available from PP’s central ERP system: Infor LN and the suite of reporting tools available within.

You will work with the team & business in an internal customer facing role to get the best possible solutions. 

To balance and prioritise requests for reporting and analytics ensuring that core priorities are always met first. 

To maintain standard presentation of reports and business information to ensure consistency and to support data analysis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify requests for new/amended reports/BI, gathering and analysing requirements from the requestor(s).

Minimize duplicity of reports available within the business.

Review viability, business benefit and compare to potentially existing solutions

Prioritize requests according to importance, urgency and benefit to business.

Develop and realise the reporting/BI requirement through to final sign-off by stakeholder

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Skills/attributes: Essential

Good knowledge of SQL Query

Experience of reporting/analysis tools e.g. MS Report Builder, Birst, Tableau, etc

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience of creating reports and dashboards to support business requirements

Ability to capture and understand stakeholder analysis requirements

Proactive self-starter who can manage and prioritise workload to achieve the required timelines

Establishes effective working relationships within the project team

Understands how BI can be used to support business process and help improve business performance

Organized with ability to work to set targets/deadlines

Knowledge:

of ERP systems desirable

Knowledge of manufacturing processes desirable

Understanding of SQL Databases and Query writing

Skills/attributes: Desirable

Familiar with Enterprise Planning systems e.g. LN, SAP, MS Dynamics, etc

Be able to evaluate stakeholder analysis requirements against existing capabilities/options. As well as being able to determine the benefit to business

Experience of working in a Manufacturing and/or Project led industry

Familiar with financial reporting requirements

You can support business process testing. You know how to execute test cases

Experience of providing analysis and results at all levels of business
