Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary: £48,000 – £54,000 per year

Our client, a leading manufacturing client based near Malton, are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis. This recruitment drive is due to order books continually expanding and needing additional staff to manage the workload.

The successful candidates will support the business by developing new products and customer specific solutions. This will include CAD modelling design calculations, FEA, detail drawings and liaising with the other departments within the business.

The Ideal candidate will be degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering with demonstrable experience working in a similar role. Experience with Injection Moulding and assembly processes would be highly advantageous.

Hours

Mon – Friday 0830 – 17.00

Role Description

• Use of 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD, Autodesk Inventor) software to produce designs and engineering drawings.
• Bring new products to manufacture by following the new product introduction process.
• Follow procedure to ensure drawing revision control.
• Create and maintain technical construction folders for CE and UKCA marking.
• Consultation with production staff to address any production issues.
• Development of tests and related equipment.
• Support sales by answering technical questions.
• Liaise with customers and sales team on projects and product development as required, this may require overseas travel.
• Protect new designs with appropriate level of IP.

Qualifications/ Skills

• Minimum Degree qualified in Mechanical engineering
• Demonstrable experience working within a Mechanical Design role.
• Experienced in use of Autocad/Autodesk Inventor
