Hours are 7:30am-4:30pm Mon-Thurs; 7:30am-1:00pm Friday

Skillection are pleased to be working alongside their very well-established manufacturing client based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire assisting them in finding a great Quality Engineer for their business.
Th successful Quality Engineer will act as point of contact for material suppliers and site personnel with regards to the consistent production of goods to an acceptable safety and quality standard.
Liaison with material suppliers, leading issue resolution to minimise effective cost to the business whilst maintaining a good supplier relationship.
Assist in ensuring that products are manufactured in a safe and efficient way and in line with all appropriate safety and quality standards.
Assist in the development of systems and procedures to ensure the legality of product and the continued certification of the management system to BRCGS Packaging Materials and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
Key Accountabilities
• To ensure that raw materials are available to the standard required to achieve the production of goods on time and in full.
• To promote and audit adherence to operating procedures ensuring the safety and quality of finished product meets customer requirements.
• Inspection of all raw materials upon delivery to site through the development and application of accurate colour, design and specification standards.
• Liaise with suppliers on issues of non-conformance to specifications and quality standards.
• Audit production records and quality checks for compliance with ISO & BRCGS requirements for product safety, quality and traceability, ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Cosmetic Standards for finished product.
• Ensure effective control of non-conforming items preventing unauthorised release to production and customer.
• Assist in the investigation of safety & quality incidents and customer complaints ensuring identification of root cause and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Assist in the training and development of operational personnel.
• To behave in a manner that is safe and that promotes good manufacturing practice.

Desirable Requirements
• Experience of working in a metal forming environment.
• Knowledge of BRCGS Packaging Materials and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
• Understanding of the principles of root cause analysis – 8D, Ishikawa, 5-why.
• Experience of risk assessment and HACCP principles.
