Salary: £60 – £84 per hour

Job Summary (Purpose)

In the role of Partnership Relations Manager, you will be involved in the engagement and recruitment of work experience, guaranteed job interviews and a conversion to job opportunities from local and national employers and will be expected to work collaboratively with other partners such as NCS, charities, hostels, community rehabilitation homes, JCP’s, housing associations, supplementary language schools and interfaith groups. Your primary focus within this role will be to determine and understand the regions priority sectors, current strategic challenges, recovery action plans and the mindset of local employers using current employment market intelligence and research from Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEP), Sustainable & Economic Plans, Office of National Statistics, NOMIS, and the Indices of Deprivation.

Partnership Relations Managers must have experience in building new and maintaining existing relationships, ideally within the pre-employment, education/learning, development sector, or alternatively with experience and knowledge of recruitment within the sectors we deliver in. The new and existing relationships that you harbour, foster and maintain will providing opportunities for the local residents that are looking to secure employment, gain better pay or secure new jobs.

The role of Partnership Relations Manager will align the partnership needs with the development of the local residents to enhance both progression opportunities and decrease the skills gap within the locality.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Understanding the local economic climate to enable relationships to be built with partners that captures their current challenges
  • Establish strong relationships with new and existing local and national employer clients to capture work experience opportunities that enhance the successful recruitment of suitably skilled individuals
  • Understanding the employer’s current recruitment challenges so that VSS are in a position to be able to support suitably qualified individuals into their roles
  • Ensure Health and Safety and relevant guidelines are risk assessed and managed to promote the safety and wellbeing of the learners within work experience opportunities
  • Continual monitoring and reviewing of the employers needs and outputs of VSS’s collaboration to ensure that their recruitment need are still met
  • Identifying, building, and maintaining collaborative external partnerships with JCP, Work programme organisations, education establishments, NCS and other customer facing organisations looking to place unemployed individuals on to short courses funded through our AEB/Traineeship provision
  • Establish strong connections with key internal stakeholders, existing stakeholders, relevant industry professionals/organisations and educational bodies
  • Responsible for maintaining excellent customer relationships with all stakeholders and ensuring total customer satisfaction and repeat business through a variety of methods and reporting mechanisms
  • Meet personal KPI consistently month on month
  • Work effectively with the Senior Management Team and Regional/National Business Development teams to meet overall company KPIs
  • Identify eligibility of candidates for prescribed courses and support requirements of the individual required for learning.
  • Follow VSS (Ltd) policy and procedures to promote Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity, Data Protection (GDPR) & Health and Safety.

Essential Requirements

Impressive business record, particularly in relationship building and maintenance

Experience and knowledge of the Adult Education Budget and Traineeships

Experience of supporting the development of curriculum and resources for classroom and remote delivery dependent upon stakeholder need

Ability to think strategically and communicate at the highest level at all times

Experienced in working face-to-face with employer clients to negotiate and present our company offer

Excellent standard of education in Maths and English, grade A-C or equivalent

Excellent administration and ICT skills

Excellent eye for detail

Excellent communication and managerial skills

Meeting KPI’s

Car owner with a willingness to travel throughout a specified region if public transport links are not available

Well-presented and always professional

Maintaining relationships with staff and keeping up to date on their work progress

Writing performance reports and analysing relevant business data

Determining the reasons for non-take up of provision

Assuming responsibility for the success or failure of strategic decisions

Promoting a culture of growth throughout the business

Educating team members on best business practices and techniques for increasing effectiveness

Identifying key accounts

Fostering collaborative relationships between large and small employers and stakeholders

Being knowledgeable about products and services offered by the business

Raising the company profile by attending job fairs and employer engagement events

Suggesting new projects such as product development to tap into new markets

Assisting with investment and financial decisions to benefit the company

Being aware of market trends and competitors

Complying with regulations and laws of business development

Maintaining a positive attitude that inspires co-workers and clients to grow the business

Adheres to the organisation’s code of conduct and contributes to team cohesion and productivity – representing the positive aspects of team culture and respectfully challenging inappropriate prevailing cultures.

Level 3 IAG preferred but not essential as training can be given
