Salary: £42,000 – £54,000 per year

Maxwell Bruce are working with one of Scotland’s most highly regarded Foundation, Underpinning and Piling specialist contractors. We have been asked to assist with the recruitment of a Contracts Manager due to the ongoing success of the Company.

The candidate will require to have a minimum of 10 years’ experience within the construction or building industry where they can demonstrate they can project manage independently or under instruction from the Directors.

A minimum HND standard or ideally degree qualification in Civil Engineering with appropriate CSCS, SSMTS and NVQ management training.

Duties, Responsibilities and Abilities

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• An ability to man manage and motivate the workforce.
• Liaison with Principal Contractors, attending pre-start and ongoing site meetings.
• An understanding of subcontract principals and administration on subcontract orders.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
• Reporting on project procedures, ensuring completion to target programmes and to commercial expectations.
• The ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
• To provide the necessary interface with the Company Plant Department, Administration Department and Directors.
• An enthusiastic approach with a results focused attitude and good problem solving ability.
• The inspection of works on site and to ensure compliance to specifications and QA System.
• The collation of all necessary site paperwork and agreement of records with our clients.
• A flexible overall approach with a view to obtaining ongoing training in this specialist field.
• The ability to produce site specific Risk Assessments and appropriate workable Method Statements and apply their implementation.
• Liaison with our Site Safety Advisor.
