Salary: £26,000 per year

PAYROLL ADVISOR/ADMINISTRATOR REQUIRED FOR AN IMMEDIATE START. BASED IN LUTTERWORTH £20,400 – £24,000 + DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

My client is a well known established family ran company for over 50 years and are now looking to recruit a Payroll Advisor/Administrator on a permanent basis. This is a pivotal position which will be dealing with over weekly/monthly payroll including various queries relating to SSP, SMP, attachment of earnings etc. The role will be an all encompassing one which will require a strong candidate with a personable yet firm approach who works well under pressure and to deadlines. This excellent opportunity would be working fairly autonomously although will be more in a leadership position driving the payroll department forward.

[ The role ]

– To ensure accurate transactions are completed on payroll for a variety of clients with differing sizes/complexity
– Calculating the right amounts of pay, deductions, overtime, bonuses, allowances and statutory payments
– Setting up the administering new PAYE schemes
– Issuing, processing and maintaining correct documentation for new starter/leavers as well as the records for current employees
– To ensure a high service level is provided and deliver timely accurate payroll transactions
– To submit monthly/weekly submissions (RTI) to HMRC and make payments to Inland Revenue in regards to NI and Tax
– To provide support and guidance on customer calls and queries within agreed service levels
– Give support and advice to other team members on areas of payroll transactions
– Mentor members of the department

[ Person and skills required ]

– Experience of using IRIS payroll is preferable however training can be provided to the right candidate
– Payroll experience is essential with PAYE legislation, calculations, SMP, SSP, attachment of earnings, completing year end, BACS processing
– Excellent customer service skills
– Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
– Good IT skills
– Excellent numeracy skills
– A strong personality with ability to work to tight deadlines and autonomously
– Full UK driving licence and own transport is preferred but not essential
