Production Manager

We currently have an exciting new opportunity for our sheet metal fabrication company based in West London who specialize with the design and manufacture of Street Furniture. We are looking for an Assembly or Production Manager to oversee all fitting and assembly activities within the company’s in-house fabrication/manufacturing department.

This is a fast moving environment and will require a candidate who is hands on. The selected candidate would ideally have an engineering / construction background and have experience within a similar construction / engineering environment at a senior supervisory / managerial level and be able to read engineering / construction style assembly drawings.

The selected Assembly / Production Manager would be expected to take on full responsibility for the management of the assembly and kitting up for the company’s full range of street furniture products. Typically this would include the mechanical assembly and construction of light to medium duty fabricated sheet metal and sectional products.

A multidisciplinary role, the Assembly Managers responsibilities and duties would include:

– Supervision and management of all existing assembly staff,
– Recruitment and management of both full and part time assembly labour as required,
– Liaison with internal production and installation departments regarding work programming and scheduling,
– Liaison with production regarding supply of required parts.
– Management of all stocks/consumables and liaison with third party suppliers as required.
– Ensuring the work area is clean and safe at all times
– Adherence to production assembly deadlines,
– Loading of lorries / liaison with despatch and transport departments
– Have a proactive approach to work at all times and is able to get stuck into the job
– The job will entail some driving off site will require some physical labour,
– Must have a both standard driving and fork lift licences and be fit and able to drive,

Basic Hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm however the role will require flexibility and additional hours as necessary to ensure obligations are fulfilled.
