External Sales Engineer (Switchgear)

The Role:
Our client is seeking to recruit an External Sales Engineer to expand the after sales activities in its Low Voltage Systems business.

Key Responsibilities:
+ The role will involve identifying and delivering opportunities for servicing and maintenance activities on the large installed base of our client’s and third party switchgear in the UK
+ Liaising with customers to satisfy their needs for effective breakdown support
+ Liaising with our client’s existing team of field based Sales Engineers who sell new switchboard systems
+ Interact with our client’s team of Installation, Test and Design Engineers and will require regular consultation with colleagues working on current projects
+ To constantly seek to improve quality standards in all aspects of our operations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

+Familiarity with all aspects of the design and installation of Low Voltage Switchgear, and the ability to persuade clients of the value of regular maintenance activities (e.g. visual inspection, thermography, servicing of breakers / fuse switches, provision of adequate spares) to ensure their continuity of supply is not compromised
+ Results Orientation and a determination to win

+ Able to follow Sales processes and activities to develop sales.
+ Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines appropriate to the job.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:

+ Experience of the business sectors and industry familiarisation
+ Knowledge of ‘intelligent’ systems (PLC Controls, DCS systems, communication protocols, etc)
+ Knowledge of basic commercial law/terms and conditions would also be an advantage

Salary:

Up to £35,000 plus Bonus, car and benefits
