Design Engineer

Salary: £26,400 – £36,000 per year

I am working with a company based in Halifax, who specialise within the IT/Telecoms/AV/VC industry who are looking for a design engineer to join their team.

The role will involve but will not be limited to:

· Engaging with the sales team, client, users, project managers and other trade contractors in the design of audio-visual solutions

· Production of detailed kit lists, functional specifications & pre-sales information for various solutions to detailed SLA timescales

· Ensuring solutions are of high quality and align with the business core principles of sustainable solutions, being able to think beyond the now

· Production of AV M&E drawings for power, data and cable containment

· Production of various schematics, cable schedules and network device details

· Researching and testing of new products and technologies to assess the suitability for our customers and stay ahead of the latest technologies

· Attending or internal & external industry training to ensure quality and understanding is maintained

· Attending customer sites and meetings face to face to establish requirements and carry out site surveys

· Provide technical advice and assistance to non-technical project delivery team

Skills requirements:

· Ability to work effectively as part of a wider team

· Time management

· Planning skills

· AutoCAD 2D experience as a minimum – 3D experience would be a distinct advantage

In return my client is offering a starting salary of £26,400 – £36,000 depending upon experience, along with a health cash plan, peoples pension, flexible working, dress for your day dress code, annual flu jabs, annual company events, performance bonuses, dedicated training budgets, education reimbursement, 30 days annual leave, which increases to 33 with years of service and option private medical!
