Design Engineer

Premier Engineering is working with a company based in the West Midlands who is looking for a Design Engineer to join a successful, well known business that produce a range of world class products. The company are looking to expand its team on a permanent basis.

The Design Engineer will primarily be working to provide design capability to engineering activities/projects.

The Design Engineer is required to have the below skills and experience:

Skills & Abilities:

“Qualified to at least a HNC/HND or equivalent in mechanical engineering
“3D CAD modelling experience, Pro -Engineer Wildfire would be an advantage
“Knowledge of creating and managing Bill of Materials
“Have experience of designing components
“Have a hands on approach to engineering design and development
“Experience of designing off-highway products would be an advantage
“Good understanding of hydraulic, mechanical or electrical systems used on off-highway products would be an advantage

Along with these skills and knowledge the Design Engineer is expected to perform the following duties:

Key duties and responsibilities:

“Support current and new product design and development projects as required
“Create and update component and sub system models using 3D CAD tools.
“Generate 2D drawings from 3D CAD models
“Support continuous improvement activities
“Design for procurement, cost, manufacture and maintenance

The Salary for the Design Engineer is in the range of £27,600 – £44,400dependant upon candidate experience and seniority.
