Salary: £48,000 – £51,600 per year

GBR Recruitment are working exclusively with a lead foodie, recruiting for an experienced Food Manufacturing Shift Manager to lead a Rotating Shift team across a 24/7 shift: 12 hour shifts on both days and nights rotating 2-3-2 style including a 10 day rest period every 5 weeks.

As our prestigious clients Manufacturing Shift Manager, you’ll join their fast paced South Yorkshire food production facility crafting top end food lines on behalf of major food retailers.

This key Shift Management role, reports in to the Sites Manufacturing Manager.

As the Shift Manager you will be accountable for people, plant, product and process delivery against clearly defined role outputs, responsibilities and targets / KPI’s.

You will be motivating, leading and coaching Team Members, Team Captains and Multi-Skilled Engineers to successfully deliver production, quality, hygiene, safety, conformance to plan and attendance KPIs.

You’ll need to be focused on CI, LEAN, Quality, Zero Waste, Improving Efficiencies and Output levels, as well as being confident and effective communicator with a track record in leading teams to drive high level standards and improve all areas of the business.

Shift Manager key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring high levels of Quality, Safety and Hygiene effectively managing all procedures and SSOW 
  • Using strong communication, analytical and team leadership skills, establishing and maintaining a driven focused team culture to support and deliver all aspects of Lean Manufacturing and CI methodology.
  • Coaching members of the Shift team by conducting regular monitoring and appraisals to ensure skills and competency levels are developed to deliver highest levels of customer satisfaction
  • Effectively manage and deliver planning of resources to achieve and exceed KPI’s (cost, quality, service).
  • Achieve production and conformance to planned targets and maintaining control of stock and waste
  • Analyse and implement performance improvements to drive the operation forward
  • Liaise with internal / external customer, colleagues and other third parties (exceed customer expectations)
  • Mentoring, Coaching & Motivating the Shift teams to excel, cross training where possible. 

Attributes:

  • Food Manufacturing Management experience (Shift Manager, Team Manager, Unit Manager etc.)
  • Strong CI, LEAN, Quality, Zero Waste, Change Management skills 
  • Strong mentoring, coaching and employee development skills, able to cross train teams to achieve 
  • Fast paced high volume food production experience 
  • Used to working shifts and happy to work on a shift roster 
  • Used to working to set KPI’s 
  • Strong professional communicator at all levels
  • Client facing skills and experience (the big 4 foodies)
