Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per year

What`s the opportunity?

An opportunity has arisen in a fast-moving team for a Principal Supportability Engineer to develop their skills working on a wide range of dynamic projects. This role would suit an ILS Engineer, Supportability Engineer or Logistics Engineer with experience working in either the Defence or Commercial environment

What will you be doing?

As a principal supportability engineer you will:

*Define support requirements for the product.
*Influence the product design to enhance supportability through life.
*Identify the support needs through application of support analysis addressing; Whole Life Cost, Level of Repair, Maintenance Tasks, Reliability Centred Maintenance, Logistics information, Tools and test equipment etc.
*Develop and communicate the product support strategy and associated plans.
*Develop the support system architecture
*Scope the range and scale of resources, (manpower, skills, information and equipment) required to support the product through life.
*Ensure that the support products / systems are available and effective to deliver support at entry into service.
*Progressively validate, verify and report design compliance with the support requirements.
*Manage small to medium sized ILS work packages on behalf of the Project ILS manager

Who and what we are looking for from you?

*Degree qualified or equivalent in an engineering / numerate discipline.
*The ability to solve challenging problems within tight timescales and budgets.
*Experience in the application of ILS/Supportability Engineering (LSA, LSAR, RCM, MTA, LORA, Initial Provisioning etc. to recognised guidelines and standards: JSP 886, Def Stan 00-45, Def Stan 00-60, Def Stan 00-600, ASD S2000M etc.) during the development of complex products is desirable.
*Good interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
*Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
*The ability to work individually well or within a team.
