Salary: £26,000 per year

Our client is internationally known as a leader in plant extraction and the development of natural ingredients and solutions for the food, health and beauty sections. In the role of Quality Assurance Officer, you will be part of the Flavour Quality Control team located in Overseal, Derbyshire and reporting directly to the Quality Manager.

The successful candidate must be familiar with at least 2 of the different Quality Standards (FSSC, ISO9001, ISO14001, RSPO etc) and be able to create their own processes and procedures to comply with these. Then when there are changes to the standards, you will be required to carry out the changes within our client’s own systems.

Overall Responsibilities:

Support in the continuous improvement of the Food Safety Management Systems, through internal audits, non-conformance investigation and root cause analysis.

Maintain Food Safety Management Systems and technical documents and procedural manuals, ensuring that all Quality Assurance documentation is maintained and stored in compliance with company internal procedures.

Prioritise administrative requirements to help with the growing workload of the QA Team.

Manage ongoing collection and analysis of quality metrics.

Run reports including statistics and findings for the office function within the Quality Assurance team.

Ensure high-quality, accuracy and excellent presentation of documents whilst upholding core internal templates.

Hours are 8.00-16.00 or 9.00-17.00 Monday-Friday (35 hours – flexible).

For the successful candidate, the professional profile will include:

University degree or Vocational Diploma within Food Science, Food Technology or related subject

Good knowledge on chemical substances, hazardous material and related local regulations would be advantageous.

Overall work experience of 6+ years of which 2 or more years in a similar position.

Knowledge on FSSC, ISO, HACCP, and quality management systems is required. Auditing qualifications would be advantageous.

Good knowledge of production methods, statutory and regulatory requirements and GMP in manufacturing facilities.

Good knowledge of product technologies and applications.

Good knowledge with systems such as SAP and Databases.
