THE ROLE
Daily duties consist of: writing, maintaining and performing test plans/documentation; exploratory testing of new websites, product changes and updates; liaising with Product Management staff to organise work priorities; working closely with designers, developers and systems administrators to understand changes and, where necessary, to build and maintain a suitable test environment. Candidates will need to manage their workload unsupervised. Training is supplied, where required, to ensure that team members possess the suitable knowledge and skills to fulfil their role.

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Managing the Software Testing team to a high standard
· Logging and verifying of software defects in a defect management system, or similar issue management system
· Acceptance testing and exploratory testing of products
· Writing and/or maintaining software test suite and test plans in a test suite management system
· Providing 3rd line support to the software support/projects teams where required, including assisting with product configuration and troubleshooting common problems
· Liaising with Project Managers and other project stakeholders to ascertain system requirements and manage work schedule priorities
· Offering advice on best tools and practices

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
· Flawless written English and interpersonal skills
· A logical and methodical approach to problem­ solving
· Competent using Windows 7 (or higher) operating system and MS Office
· Competent using desktop and mobile browsers and mobile/tablet handsets
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Commercial experience in a web/software/service industry role
· Good understanding of technology on the whole with an active interest
· Can understand business needs and balance them with quality and test coverage
Practical and demonstrable automation experience (selenium IDE/Selenium Web Driver/ Scripting
Ability to write scripts to accomplish testing tasks

DESIRABLE SKILLS
· Confident using desktop browser testing tools (i.e. Firebug, Fiddler, Web Development Tools, Selenium IDE)
· Familiarity with JIRA issue tracking system and any other related Atlassian products
· Certified knowledge of the software or software testing industry through BCS qualification or similar
· Commercial experience in a software testing or development role
· Knowledge of SVN / Git, or similar code versioning systems
· Knowledge of any of the following: MySQL / PHP / CSS / Javascript / JQuery
· Knowledge of automated functional testing tools
