Software Tester (Automated)

4 Month Contract for a Automated Software Tester to be based in Central Leeds, within a Central Government organisation.

Main Duties/ Responsibilities

Requirements gathering, production of executable specifications and exploratory testing.
Essential ongoing part of the IT systems development; transition into service and support processes.
Obtain maximum value from existing investment in technologies, maintaining the core information-handling infrastructure of the organisation and keeping it up to date while planning for future needs.
Ensure all aspects of domain expertise and other relevant knowledge is transferred
Planning and managing application functional and non functional testing
Preparing for, undertaking and documenting testing work Making a constructive contribution to project management processes
Key Tasks

Working embedded within a multidisciplinary delivery team to influence the outcome of the delivery process and quality of the releases
Working with Product Owners and Business Analysts to improve user stories detail and acceptance criteria
Define the testing approach
Taking ownership for creating, planning and executing tests
Sharing best practices with team members
Skills/ Experience Required

Reporting to the Test Manager the Test Analyst is responsible for all testing activity completed within a delivery team. They will own testing processes within the team and share testing knowledge with other developers. The role requires a skilled tester with the ability to work effectively within an agile delivery process. The environment is fast-paced requiring a quick mind to understand new concepts in a dynamic workplace. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and a keen eye for detail for example to explain quality issues at meetings

Formal Qualifications Required
