Join a leading multinational aerospace and defence organisation as a Software Engineer in Yeovil.
Interested in developing the systems that exploit tactical data links to enhance and optimise Command, Control and Situational Awareness across the whole battlespace? We are looking for software engineers to help develop in this domain in one of the world’s largest engineering companies.
Due to continued investment, this manufacturing business at the cutting edge of technology is searching for the perfect Software Engineer to join their growing team in Yeovil on an initial 12-month contract. This role pays £70.56 per hour.

The Role
Within the Software Engineer role, you’ll be responsible for:
- Ownership of requirements, design and implementation, and test to a high standard, within schedule and estimates
- Software development of solutions
- Testing of completed functionality
- Adherence to project processes and software development practices
- Reporting on progress and providing feedback to team members and leadership
You
To succeed within the Software Engineer role, you’ll have experience in a similar position, and you’ll ideally have the following skills:
- Track record of Enterprise, Project or System Level Design Solutions
- Requirements Definition and Analysis
- Requirements compliance and design to cost
- Verification and Validation
Background
This is an exciting opportunity to work for a global business that has developed a strategy of working closely with its contingent workforce. Within the role, you can expect to:
- Software development lifecycle and processes (e.g. design, coding, unit testing) and tools (e.g. UML design tools, code IDEs)
- Experience of software development including desktop-based applications in an appropriate language: C++, Java
- Windows or Linux target environments
- Object-oriented design/development including UML
- Project specific tools and processes such as DOORS, Enterprise Architect
