You will live within a 20 miles radius of Leeds, Bradford, Barnsley or Salford
It is ESSENTIAL that you have EXPERIENCE in BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT of Truck Rental services
You will be selling in to Local Authorities so experience of this in addition to truck rental services would be advantageous.
Our client’s commercial vehicle hire business has been established for over half a century, it is a family run business that employs around 160 people across 6 depots in the North/South-West of England. The company has been awarded with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 accreditations as well as FORS Silver– adding to their continued commitment to providing a quality service to both customers and employees. They are looking for a Business Development Manager to promote both short- and long-term hire within the specialist area of Local Council and Local Authorities.
Although this is national role, the client wants you to feel part of their business and to aid this we need you to be located suitably close to one of their Rental locations. You will take over the management of some existing accounts but your main focus will be new business development with town, city and county councils.
You will need a proven track record in Truck Rental sales and preferably have specific knowledge of dealing with the councils that you will sell to (but not essential). You will be responsible for creating a strategic approach to growing this part of our business through identifying customers and ensuring that we are part of their Supplier Frameworks and you will therefore be an integral part of the Tender process.
Duties:
- Developing a strategic plan to expand the client’s footprint in this challenging market
- Increasing rental sales and company profile by identifying new customers and developing existing accounts
- Arranging and participating in face-to-face meetings with prospective customers
- Keeping up to date with industry and sector knowledge by researching and expanding knowledge
- Developing the Tender process and subsequent submissions
- Taking an end- to-end approach to vehicle hires and contracts
Key Skills
- An ability to work in a planned and structured way
- Proven track record in Truck Rental or Heavy, Commercial Vehicle Contract Hire
Preferable Skills
- A mechanical background
- Local Authority Sales Experience
