SENIOR ICT NETWORK ENGINEER

A rapidly growing IT infrastructure company working with some of the UK’s largest organisations is seeking a Senior post sales Networking engineer to be a key part of the smart buildings network project delivery team. As a lead project engineer you will be responsible for writing low-level designs and creating testing documentation, with hands-on implementation and configuration.

The role is based from home, with visits to customer sites when required (Within their global footprint). There will also be travel to their pre-staging facilities. This is a hands-on position and deep technical knowledge is required in respect of leading enterprise networking vendors/solutions.

Position expectations:

• Strong customer-interaction and organisational skills
• Ability to quickly establish credibility with technical professionals
• Candidate will frequently be collaborating with other internal teams and project manager
• Experienced Network Engineer able to operate at CCNP / CCIE level
• Function as the technical lead on projects requiring network infrastructure and deliver project related workstreams within the agreed timelines, whilst maintaining a thorough understanding of the end-to-end design
• Responsible for the delivery of multiple concurrent projects
• Able to architect complex networking solutions

Desirable skills required:

• This is very much a hands-on role, and deep technical knowledge and ability to install, configure a number of core networking devices including HPE\Aruba\Cisco\Meraki\Fortinet\Allied Teleses switches, wireless solutions, routers, DNA, firewalls, network management tools, servers, and VMware
• Experience in virtualisation network functions VFRs, VMware
• Demonstrable industry awareness.
• Strong written, verbal & workshop skills and ability to explain complex issues to customers
• Must be a flexible collaborator, diligent and organised, with excellent communication and customer-facing skills
• Adaptability to very dynamic and challenging working environments
• Experience in working under high-pressure environments across multiple sectors and verticals
• Ability to build quality, Technical Networking design documentation (Topologies, HLD & LLDs)
• Mandatory ability to travel within UK & Europe when required

Desirable Industry Certifications

• CCNP mandatory, CCIE Routing & Switching preferred.
• Aruba Certified Professional (switching or wireless)
• Fortinet NS4
