Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 per year
We are looking for an ambitious junior CAD Design Engineer to join our busy team on a permanent basis, primarily based at our Head Office in Harlow. This is a fantastic role which offers an excellent working environment and job satisfaction.
Reporting to the Sales Support Manager, this role will allow you the opportunity to take your next step, allowing you to independently use your CAD skills to support the sales and operational teams. The CAD Design Engineer will work closely with the Sales team and Engineering departments, producing schematic & electrical schematic 2D drawings, small power layout drawings for data, security and IRS systems.
The main aspects of the role are:
- Create high-quality detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied by Architects and Designers; make modifications to existing drawings;
- Use a variety of CAD software programmes to create designs in 2D and 3D models;
- Liaise with M&E consultants, Engineers and Designers to understand their design requirements;
- Provide accurate, detailed and scale drawings;
- Ensure drawings are compliant with industry and Health & Safety standards and protocols;
- Conduct site visits and surveys when required;
- Present working drawings for use in all stages of the project; tender, manufacture/construction and installation;
- Produce installation and manufacturing documentation;
- Maintain accurate records.
Key Skills and Knowledge
- Has excellent AutoCAD knowledge and can work independently when using the software;
- Applies a common sense approach to tasks;
- Is tenacious in obtaining information as required and ensuring it’s correct;
- Have a high level of attention to detail;
- Experience of liaising with, and managing third party or outsourced partner relationships is essential in this role;
- Design background and/or qualifications.
