We have an opportunity for a Product / Stock Assistant to work in Norwich for the UK’s number one dairy business and a company who believe in encouraging success – both business and personal.
Hours
In the role of Product / Stock Assistant you will work Monday to Saturday, 47.5 hours per week with shifts on Week 1 of 9.30pm to 6am and on Week 2 from 2am until 10.30am. Please only apply if you are happy to work these hours.
Purpose of Job
* Assisting the Product Controller in effectively controlling the supply of dairy products within the depot and adhering to the Company’s Mandatory Quality Standards (MQS) and Health and Safety policies
* Deputising for the Product Controller when required
* Providing Doorstep and/or Food Service rounds cover as required
* Ensuring that the Depot is maintained in a clean, tidy and safe working manner
Nature & Scope of the Job
* It is the Product Assistant’s responsibility to assist the Product Controller in ensuring that the necessary levels of stock are available to support order requirements for all residential deliveries and/or Food Service customers.
* The role can be quite physically demanding as it involves picking loads and loading on vehicles. The Product Assistant is responsible for facilitating all goods in and out of the Depot, under instruction from the Product Controller and Operations Manager. Quality control is a vital part of the role and the incumbent must ensure all Company Standards are adhered to and that products are available for sale to customers within the Company guidelines.
* The nature of the role means that the individual has to be flexible in their approach. There is a requirement to ensure customers are treated in line with the Company’s vision and values.
Principal Accountabilities
* Ensuring the Top 50 Product lines are in stock at all times, along with all necessary stock lines.
* Undertake a stock check by using the Servery HHT
* Ensure all deliveries from suppliers, and all product stored and distributed comply with MQS procedures and all Food Hygiene regulations
* Ensure the product storage areas, outside environment/yard meet the Company’s cleanliness standards at all times
* Ensure compliance to the Company’s Health and Safety Policy at all times
* To maintain correct levels of stock in order to minimise wastage and contain costs to budgeted levels. This is reviewed weekly and in line with company KPIs
* To be an ambassador for the company’s Food Service delivery function
Knowledge & Experience Required
* Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills
* Knowledge of lifting and manual handling techniques
* Ability to meet the physical demands of the role
* Sound understanding of stock movements and stock rotation
* Ability to work under own initiative
* Ideally will have a full driving licence appropriate to vehicle type (B or C1 as applicable)
* Fork Lift licence is desirable
* Previous experience of dealing with fresh produce and understanding product code life desirable
For the role of Product / Stock Assistant, you will receive a Salary: £26,000 per year plus a night shift allowance of £26,000 per year between 8pm and 6am.
