Youth Offending Service Worker, YOS Officer

Our Client:
Our client is a specialist in Youth Offending services.

The Role:
Currently our client is looking to recruit a YOS Officer with at least a years experience in a similar role to provide a comprehensive service to young people aged 10-17 years, who are appearing in Court and where bail is being opposed. To work with the Team Manager to identify risk factors and develop bail packages for representation (written or verbal) to the Court that addresses the risk factors and reduce the likelihood of a remand into custody or offending on bail.

You will be able to:
o To supervise young people in line with National Standards.
o To administer youth justice processes in line with National Standards.
o To represent the service in court in an exemplary manner.
o To assess young people (ASSET) in line with National Standards.
o To record case file information correctly in YOIS.

Knowledge of:
* National and local youth justice initiatives
* The Youth Justice system
* The Children’s Act 2004, Crime and Disorder Act 1998, Youth Justice Board National Standards and Criminal Justice Act 2003.
