Young Person’s Support Worker

Salary: £26,000 per year

Branching Out Retford, commissioned by Nottingham County Council, are looking for experienced Support Workers/Youth Workers to offer a quality strengths based support service which aims to build the skills, confidence and independence of the young people who come through our doors. This busy and dynamic service needs motivated Support Workers to encourage our young people to be the best version of themselves.

Support /Youth Worker requirements

• Previous experience of working with Young People
• Understanding of the challenges young people face, childhood trauma and its effects.
• Ability to read, write and use the computer
• Ability to work on a rota basis

Working hours

You will need to be flexible to work on a rota over 7 days. Shifts are either 08:00 – 15:30 or 14:30 – 22:00.

Support /Youth Worker duties

• Advocate for our tenants in meetings and liaising with agencies to help them access permanent accommodation to supporting them to access education or employment training.
• Support and encourage activities such as football, sports and activities.
• Support practical activities such as shopping, tenancy maintenance such as cleaning or budgeting.
• Offer high quality, person centred support as well as adhering to Health and Safety. 
• Use your patient and assertive nature to de-escalate situations and make sure there are positive outcomes consistently.
