Position Summary:

My Client based in the Rail industry is currently recruiting 4 Coded MAG Welders to operate in their manufacturing depot based in Ilford, Essex. The role carried out will be to refurbish rail carriages, cutting corrosion and rewelding the outer shells of the carriages. The Majority of the rolling stock has been stood in a field for 2 years and are not fit for consumer service. Within the role you will be expected to have the ability to cut out the corrosion, fabricate and then weld back into the carriage for final preparation.

Ideally we are looking for a diverse candidate who has a very flexible approach and not afraid of hard work.

Qualifications:

Candidates considered for this position will have IN-DATE MAG Welding code BS EN 2872 or BS EN ISO 9606/1 or be previously coded to this standard.
-Candidates must be time served and apprentice trained Welder
-Must be proficient in MIG & MAG welding on Mild Steel
-Must be able to weld 1.5mm – 12mm
-Must be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
-Must be able to work to written instructions
-Must be able to work nights.
-Must be punctual
-Must have own transport or live within the local area if no transport.

All Candidates will be required to complete a trade welding test assessing your welding proficiency and skill.

You will be tested on;
-2mm Overhead Butt
-2mm Overhead Fillet
-6mm Overhead Butt
-6mm Overhead Fillet

Ideal candidates will have experience in the following industries;

-Commercial/Automotive crash repair
-Corrosion Repair
-Exforces
-Marine/Ship building
-Maintenance, Corrosion of repair
