Our client is one of the worlds leading producers of steel and our customers are at the heart of everything they do. Thier business produces a wide product range including: sections, plates, wire rod, bar, rail and semi-finished steel. They pride themselves in manufacturing to the highest quality and supply to their customers worldwide.
The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that Longs Steel Scunthorpe stores operations are carried out safely and deliver an added value service that underpins the sites operations. Maintaining optimum levels of serviceable spares and consumable inventory with a flexible and customer responsive team.
As Inventory and Demand Manager you will be responsible for the operational performance of the Scunthorpe stores therefore it is essential you have experience in managing a team within a Manufacturing, Engineering or Technical role and have proven credibility as a Manager.
About You
They are looking for someone who is ideally qualified to degree level in warehouse management, engineering or a technical related discipline. You should have an in depth knowledge and understanding of storage and inventory replenishment processes and a good knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment, business strategy development, Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques.
They need an individual who is able to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders, including support functions, trades unions and external agencies therefore excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
