The Company
An exciting opportunity to join a fast growing, leading automated product distribution company in a key role responsible for a team of engineers, tasked with keeping a state-of-the-art, PLC controlled, automated system fully operational 24/7.
The Job
You will have responsibility for managing and directing engineering activities on a shift with emphasis on continuous improvement and optimising the performance of the facility.
Key responsibilities;
• Leadership of shift members including prioritisation, allocation of workload and optimisation of shift cover
• Performance manage, train and develop engineering team
• Management and development of department processes; including shift handovers, briefs, and defect reporting/resolving
• Involvement in recruitment and disciplinary issues in conjunction with the HR Team
The Person
The ideal candidate will have a mix of the following skills, experience and attributes;
• Good technical ability relating to automation hardware and software
• HNC in Engineering, Apprentice Served, NVQ level electrical / mechanical qualifications or equivalent experience
• Management or supervisory experience
• Experience ideally gained in an automated or FMCG environment
