Waking Nights Support Worker

I am currently working with a setting in Horley who are looking for a waking nights support worker on a part time permanent basis.

This setting is part of a group of homes steered towards providing the opportunity for independence for adults with learning disabilities. When you first start and are shadowing other members of staff in the setting you will be working during the day to get to know the residents. After this you will be working 1 day per week as waking nights staff, supporting 1 individual in particular who struggles to sleep. In this role you will work in a residential setting housing 5 adults with a range of learning disabilities including non-verbal communication and challenging behaviour.

Your responsibilities will include:
-Helping people learn the skills they need to live
-Acting as an inspiration to vulnerable service users
-Monitoring residents safety throughout the night
-Working in a supportive manner with colleagues, families and external parties
-Providing high levels of personal care

Requirements:
-First Aid and Manual Handing training
-Child and Adult DBS
-A passion for care and support work
-A willingness to help with personal care
-Own means of transport
