Vendor Scheduler

Salary: £14.4 – £18 per hour

A new, exciting opportunity for a Vendor Scheduler who can provide key support to the purchasing team allowing the production team to effectively schedule the manufacturing during an outstanding period of business growth has arisen with this great client. You’ll be joining this internationally successful, electro-mechanical engineering manufacturing company at a time of expansion so long term career opportunities, including support towards gaining your CIPS qualification are available.

Using your scheduling and purchasing ability you will bring a high level of performance to the production control team through limiting parts shortages, updating and communicating vital vendor data and reports to support the business.

The Vendor Scheduler responsibilities are:

* Maintain and develop regular contact with vendors to confirm shipment dates to maximise productivity, product availability and optimum resource use in production

* Update accurately the ERP system, run reports, identify trends and communicate to operational teams as appropriate to allow planning no unexpected shortfalls

* Monitor minimum stock levels and ensure procurement is in place to avoid outages

* Support the purchasing team with investigating invoice queries and placing purchase orders if required

The Vendor Scheduler essential skills and qualities

* Experienced in scheduler or purchasing ideally with skills gained in an complex engineering manufacturing environment

* Strong IT skills in Excel, MRP/ERP/SAP and knowledge of MS Dynamic AX would be preferable but is not essential

* Great communication, administration and problem solving skills with a proactive, team focussed approach

* An eye for detail, analytical skills which drives high performance and efficiency
