Transport Manager

Due to expansion, our client in the Coventry area is looking to recruit an experienced Transport Manager, the company are an established Transport/Road Haulage business that run their own fleet of vehicles and work with one of the largest Internet based National Retailers, they are in the process of opening further sites across the country.

The ideal candidate will have experience within a logistics/haulage focused company, within a busy time critical transport office.

Duties will include:

* Managing a team of Transport Planners and Compliance Administrators

* Schedule the drivers within the relevant regulatory parameters to ensure customers’ orders can be facilitated

* Manage and implement all Health, Safety & Compliance regulations

* Monitor and control Drivers hours

* Manage the maintenance process to ensure that all vehicles and trailers are kept in a fit and roadworthy condition

* Work in partnership with finance manager to control departmental spends and budgets

* Control Tachograph reports and records of actions required

* Maintain vehicle & driver compliance in accordance with UK regulation

Required skills and experience:

* You’ll be a natural relationship builder and leader, combined with a significant and successful track record in managing a transport team

* Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) National

* Significant knowledge and experience of all transport and driver regulations

* Experience of managing Health & Safety in the workplace and H&S Qualification preferred

* Able to interpret financial and performance data in order to draw conclusions, identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions

* Previous yard experience is essential along with experience of coordinating an inbound/outbound haulage

Salary: £40,800 – £45,600Per Annum depending upon experience

Hours: Days – 12hours per day 4 days on 3 days off
