The Role:
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Trainee Traffic Planner to provide support to the transportation planning capability in the UK area.
You will have a good understanding of transport planning around the UK, and the versatility to apply your skills in transport policy and scheme development.
Duties will include:
* Assisting the Transport Department with the planning of inbound and outbound deliveries and collections to ensure that the ideal standard of customer service is achieved.
* To issue appropriate paperwork to drivers at the beginning of their shift. To ensure that all completed paperwork is collected from drivers upon completion of each shift (brief/debrief)
* You will be expected to deliver a consistently high level of administrative support to all internal functions and external customers.
* Carry out all Transport and Warehouse administration in accordance with Company/Depot requirements.
* Provide an excellent level of customer service by dealing with queries promptly and to the customers’ expectations whilst maintaining the Company’s interests.
* You will need to review receipts of POD’s and ensure that paperwork has been received for all loads.
* Assisting with payroll by collecting and entering accurate hourly paid payroll data from Driver timesheets onto relevant systems.
* You will also be required to carry out any other suitable/reasonable task as requested to meet the needs of the business.
* You will need to develop and maintain excellent communication channels with all relevant departments and depots to ensure an effective support network and continuity across depots.
Knowledge and understanding of Transport and Warehouse systems would be beneficial, although training for internal systems be provided.
