Trainee Photographer
Location: Camberley, Surrey
Salary: £26,000 per year. After the first six months and sufficient progress has been made, the salary will increase by £26,000 per year. In addition to the salary a share of the commission pool will be due from the end of the six month probation period.

H Tempest Ltd is the nation’s largest photography Company with staff numbering over 800. We specialise in academic photography ranging from toddlers in nursery groups to university graduates to HM Armed Forces. We are now seeking a confident, smart, trainee photographer who has a pleasant manner as you will be dealing with all ranks of the British Army.

The role:
– Initially providing photographic assistance, once you have reached the required level, solo assignments will follow
– The applicant will be involved in setting up & photographing recruits both on site & location, in formal and casual formations plus directing staff and civilians. Attention to detail when recording information and orders directly after the photograph is taken is vital, all these details will be present on the Finished Presentations
– Studio photography ~ ranging from children all the way through to grandparents
– Keeping cameras, Speedlight’s, studio lighting etc., all in good working order
– Filming pass out parades in HD Widescreen
– Worksheets, company documentation all up to date so articulation, arithmetic, writing & computer skills are essential
– Creation of artwork layouts using Adobe Illustrator templates (placement of images and text)
– Management of digital files following our set procedures
The candidate:
In addition to being fit and active (as there is physical work involved when carrying photographic equipment from shoot to shoot, deliveries of framed photographs, plus the erecting & dismantling of our pyramid staging)

– Have an innate ability to work with children to adults
– Be pleasant mannered, personable with a professional demeanor and enjoys meeting new people
– Be flexible in working times as early starts/late finishes may be necessary during term-time
– Have a full UK driving license and immediately prior to commencing employment must be willing to undergo a DBS check plus a Basic Security Check and provide two referees.
