Trainee Laboratory Assistant

Salary: £26,000 – £37,089 per year

Sci-Tech Laboratories, part of Cawood Scientific have the ability to provide high quality microbiological and serological analytical testing services across all aspects of bovine, poultry (including bird production and routine hatchery and factory and hygiene monitoring) and porcine production.

Sci-Tech have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Laboratory Assistant to join thier team on a permanent basis, based in Shropshire. This role will support the laboratory in the preparation and analysis of samples in accordance with the Quality Management System. Full training will be provided for the person undertaking this role.

Key Responsibilities:

· Undertake any tasks within the laboratory appropriate to level of training.

· Receive deliveries and organising stock.

· Maintain the working environment in a clean and tidy manner.

· Set up and maintain equipment.

· Assist with or perform analysis, using good laboratory practise and aseptic technique.

· Ensure samples received are handled in accordance with documented procedures.

· Attention to temperature control, storage and maintenance of sample integrity.

· Maintain accurate records as detailed in the quality procedures.

· Uphold and maintain client and company confidentiality.

Requirements:

· Strong attention to detail.

· Accurate and precise data entry skills.

· Highly organised.

· Pleasant disposition to work with in a team.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
