Toolmaker

Salary: £40,800 per year

Metalis are currently working with a well-established manufacturing company based in Wakefield who are looking for an experienced Toolmaker to join their team.

As a Tool Maker, you will play a key role in a market leading manufacturer within an experienced team, working in the Tool Room.

Key Responsibilities as the Toolmaker:

• Maintenance of die-sets
• Machining new replacement parts and developing new tooling
• Working alongside the Production Manager to resolve manufacturing issues on the shop floor
• Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure the accuracy of machined components
• Machine parts to the required specifications and drawings using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders

Candidate Requirements:

• Excellent communication skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Able to calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and geometry
• Knowledge of cutting tools such as drills, reamers, taps, end mills and face mills
• Ability to work independently by utilizing drawings and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations required
• Previous experience of working within an industrial environment
• Knowledge of various metals essential
• Ability to use various hand held measuring equipment (Vernier Calipers, Micrometers) essential
• Previous experience using punch and die tooling advantageous

Working Hours, Salary and Benefits:

• Full time – permanent
• 25 days holiday
• 39.5 hours per week
• 8am to 5pm Mon-Thurs
• 8am to 3pm Fridays
• £40,800 per annum
