Test Technician

Salary: £31.2 – £32.4 per hour

Test Technician required by a growing company based in Bristol. In the test technician role, you will be tasked with testing gas abatement products including fault finding and rectification This role is a critical role for the business and the last process in the manufacturing of our abatement systems. There is a high level of responsibility on the test technician to ensure all correct testing has been completed, all documentation is completed and stored and compliance with regulations is met.

Key Responsibilities – Test Technician 

• Ensuring safe and correct testing of gas abatement products according to standard FT&C documentation
• Leak/decay testing on gas, fuel and liquid lines
• Electrical (PAT) testing system and of components
• Use of test and measurement equipment – DMM, current meters, thermocouple readers etc
• Complete standard final test, build and calibration of machines prior to final despatch
• Document control using test report, schedule and other reference material
• Recording and reporting issues during the test process

Qualification & Requirements – Test Technician 

• An electrical qualification is a requirement
• Basic electrical and mechanical fault finding using schematics and mechanical engineering drawings
• Basic understanding of P&IDs, electrical schematics
• Use of MS Office – Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc would be advantageous
• Be neat and methodical in the work
• To be able to meet deadlines
• Knowledge/basic understanding of test and measurement equipment – DMM, current meters, thermocouple readers etc
• Experience of live working/testing of electrical systems is advantageous
