Orion are proud to work alongside our client located in West Sussex on their latest R&D Engineering opportunity. The role of Test and Development Technician plays a pivotal role within our clients day to day operation, the role is a brand new opening due to the Test and Development Technicians having a direct progression plan into the more senior positions within our clients Research and Development Departments.

What will you be doing as their newly appointed Test and Development Technician?

  • Collaborate with other engineering teams (design and production) regarding customer design specifications in order to better understand design and production feasibility
  • Accurately document designs to enable full manufacturing packages to be created or amended.
  • Ensure products are compliant to all current legal and regulatory requirements avoiding the use of components, materials or substances they identify as presenting a threat to the environment
  • Responsibility for adhering to the Company’s ISO 9001 Quality, ISO14001 Environmental and Health and Safety management systems and contributing towards continuous improvement
  • Design and build breadboards and prototypes to investigate/research new design techniques

What you need to be able to demonstrate on your CV: 

  • Solid experience of working as a Test Technician within either a electronic or electromechanical manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Able to interpret schematics
  • Good grasp of working with PCB’s
  • Knowledge and appreciation of how certain regulations and ISO standards can impact design layouts
  • HND/HNC or NVQ/BTEC in an engineering related subject
