Our client, the world’s largest independent company for development, simulation and testing technology of powertrains and their integration into the vehicle, is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Specialist to join them, based in Worcestershire.
This role will involve understanding the companies Electrification equipment portfolio and preparing costed technical and commercial quotations for all customers’ needs and requests.
Responsibilities:
- To develop and produce technical solutions and priced quotations to submit to our customers. This includes compiling table top drawings, sales literature and making any presentations which are required to support the bidding process. The tasks will include liaising with the UK Sales Team and other colleagues both in the UK and Business Units throughout the organisation.
- To use and be proficient in using enterprise-wide tools such as SalesForce
- To prepare Handover Information for the Order Fulfilment organisation for successful quotes.
- To develop and maintain a high level of technical expertise in the companies test systems.
- To develop and maintain harmonious relations with colleagues throughout the group and with potential, past and present customers.
- To comply with all Quality Assurance and Environmental Protection procedures pertinent to the proposed solution.
- To work proactively to find ways by which the process and products can be improved.
- To travel to company and customer sites as is reasonably required to achieve the targets set for the role.
- To carry out any other duties as reasonably required commensurate with the nature of the job and level of responsibility.
Candidate Specification:
- Ideally, technical sales experience in an automotive, industrial or allied industry.
- Technical experience and knowledge of one or more of the following:
- Automotive electrified powertrain systems and components
- Battery technology including cell, module and pack testing
- Application of 3-phase electric machines and motor control software.
- Inverter technology – development, testing and/or integration into systems.
- Design, installation and use of electrical power systems e.g., power converters, motors, generators, batteries, etc.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office & generally IT literate.
- Automotive or Electrical background is preferred.
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or above.
- A Team Player and willing to accept responsibility within the role
- Commitment, flexibility and self-motivation
- Full UK valid driving license
- Ability to travel internationally as required
