Technical Manager – Customer

A NEWLY CREATED POSITION FOR A

‘TECHNICAL MANAGER’

WITH A CUSTOMER BIAS TO WORK IN A COHERENT AND COLLABORATIVE MANNER WITH THE COMPANY’S CUSTOMERS. You will be the customer’s produce specialist and be able to articulate agronomic and scientific reasons behind any Technical and Quality related challenges.

Key Attributes:

– Experience of managing food safety, quality, legality and integrity
– Must be a produce specialist preferably cross category, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience gained within the Produce industry at Customer Technologist or TM level
– Able to work with complex multi-product sector
– Able to demonstrate successful customer management at a senior level, including demonstrable understanding and implementation of customer technical policies and code of practise
– Customer focused and solutions driven
– Relevant formal qualifications, either a food related degree or certified food related training
– Knowledge of relevant food safety legislation and implementation of BRC accreditation standards
– Knowledge of ethical and sociably responsible trading standards
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Experienced in managing and maintaining Quality Management Systems
– Ability to manage, coach, support and develop direct reports
– Confident in use of HACCP principles preferably formally trained in HACCP
– IT Literate
– Strongly self-motivated
– Flexible working approach
– Accurate, concise and able to analyse all relevant information to formulate clear communication to customers and key contacts
– Demonstrates attention to detail and good observation skills
– Excellent negotiating and influencing skills
– Able to cope under pressure and flex with peaks in personal workload as well as support team members in delivering their objectives.
