The client is a privately owned and leading South West based mixed use property developer. They have developed has a vast property portfolio since developing their first property in 2002 and has built excellent relationships with a wide range of professionals who contribute to produce quality, and often complex projects now associated with their reputation across the South West.
Technical Manager – About the development:
As Technical Manager, you will be working on a prestigious cliff top coastal front development in Devon consisting of luxury new homes, apartments and homes in converted listed buildings.
Technical Manager – Dimension:
Technical lead and managing the prestigious development, working in a site and office based role and with a requirement to attend meetings at South West HQ.
Technical Manager – Person Specification / About you:
* Minimum of 5 years Technical/Design management experience gained ideally within an architectural / construction development environment.
* Relevant qualifications (HND/Degree) in engineering, architecture or construction management
* Experience in high rise residential projects desirable.
* AutoCAD experience desirable.
Technical Manager – Responsibilities include:
* Through reviewing technical information and scheme design ensure the most cost-effective options of physically developing the land are recommended and ensure the viability of a proposed site in terms of its serviceability and the ease at which it can be constructed upon.
* To assist with the technical investigation and design and ensure optimisation is secured and that proper liaison is maintained with statutory authorities.
* To ensure all necessary documentation and drawings are produced to enable contracts to be let and a site to be developed by the Commercial Team.
* To be responsible for the preparation of detailed construction drawings, the negotiation and securing of technical and statutory approvals in line with the Technical Programme.
* To produce detailed design programmes and liaise with commercial and construction teams for handover of information.
* In close liaison with the Design Consultants, co-ordinate and produce all necessary technical drawings / specialised designs and design programmes, resolving technical design and construction problems.
* Maintain awareness of current materials and construction research and continually develop professional knowledge.
* Provide support and assistance in the negotiation and completion of appropriate legal agreements with Statutory Authorities necessary for the proper technical requirements of a site.
* To assist in general Company technical design matters including involvement in the production of standard drawings and ongoing product development.
