Technical Estimator / Proposals Engineer

My client is a long established company specialising in the Power generation Market.
They design and manufacture equipment which ranges from small units to very large.
There is now an opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join the team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in some or all of the duties below –
Experience of technical estimating within the generator industry/ Switchgear
Capable of Identifying labour, material & time requirements by studying proposals, specifications, single line diagrams & related documents
Ability to acquire 3rd party quotations & collating all information required to produce a comprehensive tender or quotation in order to submit to clients ensuring deadlines are met
PC literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications; Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint.
Ability to work under pressure.
Self Motivated.
Effective communication skills.

Advantageous
Experience with tendering of Switch boards & Transformers
Relevant qualifications suitable for this role
Degree or HNC/HND educated
Technically biased with either a strong electrical back ground or an understanding of standard applications of standby power generation and preferably more complex power control systems including their implementation.
Site / Hands on experience of generator installations and / or an electrical discipline
Strong math and analytical skills, as well as an eye for detail
