Consultant Engineer – Mechanical Technical Lead

Overview: An exciting opportunity a mechanically focused engineer to lead the technical aspects of challenging multidisciplinary product developments. You will be responsible for directing the work of experts from a broad range of technical and design disciplines as well as using your engineering skills to solve difficult engineering problems on a variety of exciting projects; anything from food and beverage solutions to spacecraft.

Requirements:

• A top engineering degree
• Strong Mechanical ability
• Enthusiasm and Passion for engineering
• Creative thought process and problem solving ability
• At least 6 years’ experience within an engineering consultancy or R&D department
• Varied experience within development
• Communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

• Manage work packages
• Review work of engineers, designers and technologists
• Translate client needs into technical requirements
• Work closely with project leaders to scope new projects
• Be responsible for delivering high quality technical output
• Take developments from idea to manufacture
• Liaise directly with clients an present technical findings
• Find creative solutions to challenging technical problems
• Direct analysis, design, development and test work
• Developing specialist expertise and mentoring colleagues
