The role and responsibilities:
Good knowledge of recent versions of Microsoft Windows client operating systems, including setup and configuration.
Experience with Windows Server 2008/2008R2
An understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy
Practical knowledge of TCP/IP networking
Basic use of Microsoft Office version 2007 or later

Personal specification:

It would be useful if the candidate understands antivirus software, firewalls, remote access and has had previous experience in a business IT environment.
Our networking uses Cisco switches and routers so knowledge of Cisco IOS would be of benefit. If they have any experience with one or more of the Microsoft “Servers” e.g. Exchange, ISA (TMG), SharePoint, SQL Server etc. that would also be useful but not a pre-requisite for the role. With the company increasingly reliant on virtualisation technology, some rudimentary knowledge of hypervisors would also be beneficial.
