This is a full time, permanent vacancy, whereby if you are successful you will be employed directly by the business.

I am recruiting for one of Safehands Recruitments prestigious clients based in the Whitchurch. You will be working as part of a large reputable organisation where training and development is provided.

You will play an integral part of a multi- professional team caring for children and young adults aged between 10-18 years with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties who have been potentially subject to sexual exploitation, abuse, neglect and more.

NVQ training is available up to and including Level 5. This is a full time permanent vacancy Salary: £26,000per year (including sleep ins) with up to 28 days annual leave per year. Working hours include long days on a rota basis including weekdays and weekends on a 2 on 4 off basis with contracted sleep ins.

Responsibilities Include:

Assisting children with all aspects of personal care, promoting self help and independence inline with care plans
Assisting the administration of medication
Acting in a parental, guardian and mentoring role
Supporting the children education including attending school and completing homework
Assisting with domestic duties
Working closely with teaching staff, social workers and external professionals in a professional manner
Supporting children to access the community
Managing challenging behaviour in a safe and effective manner
Undertake regular sleep in duties
Participate in regular review meetings and risk assessments
Attend and contribute to team meetings

To maintain knowledge and operate within current legislation and company polices and procedures
Promote in dependence and develop a trusting relationship with the clients
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Report any concerns that may indicate safety and well being is being compromised
To undertake all mandatory training inline with company policies and proceduresPerson Specification

Due to the location of the business and shift patterns, all applicants must hold a full driving licence and have access to their own vehicles
Staff must be flexible with shift patterns and sleep in duties
You must be confident and competent when support clients with challenging behaviour
Training to NVQ/ QCF/ National Diploma level 3 in either of the below is essential:
NVQ Caring for Children and Young People Level 3
3 NVQ in Health and Social Care-Children and Young People
Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce: Social Care Pathway
Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England)
Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) for Wales and NI.
Experience within a therapeutic environment working with children or young adults is essential
