Salary: £27,600 – £30,000 per year
My localy based client is looking for an experiences Supply Chain Freight coordinator to join their team. It is avery bussy role and will be liaising with service providiers and supplieers to ensure a smooth operation for importing products and coordinating outgoing shipments. The Supply Chain Freight Coordinator will be asssiting management in driving contiuous improvement to meet company objectives for Quality, Cost, Speed, Safety and People. You will be working a 40 hour week and there will be weekend work on a rota basis which will be 9-12 and time will be given off in lieu
Duties and Tasks
* Build and maintain constructive relationships with all service providers
* Effective co-ordination of import arrivals
* Timely and accurate communication of all arrivals to Value Chain
* Maintain control over deferment account with HMRC
* Maintain timely clearances of CFSP/NCTS
* Pursue continuous improvement in process and procedure
* Coordination of airlines and shipping, ensuring cargo and/or containers are collected and delivered in a timely manner.
* Efficient control of warehouse stock in Bonded warehouse via audit/sales orders
* Monitor & report on temperature controls to supply chain, highlighting concern areas.
* Daily maintenance of Supply Chain Logistics database
* Maintain accurate job files including cross reference with Prophet
* Record and report on import charges
* Ensure the clearing agents have a copy of all paperwork from shipper to clear the imports into the EU and any paperwork required for DEFRA and Public Health.
* Timely checking of invoices, authorising and applying to Prophet.
* Administer purchase orders when required.
* Monitor & report on transport collections, utilising vehicles to obtain best daily costings.
* Maintain Ricardo database on exchange rates, tariff codes and supplier details.
* Assist with self-auditing of import entries
* Attend and contribute in MDWT meetings
* Provide assistance to Value Chain as and when required
Skills
* Good communication skills
* Organised and methodical
* Able to work unassisted and under pressure
* Have a ‘will help’ attitude
* Researching, investigating and problem solving
* International logistical knowledge is desirable
* Understanding of import/export processes is desirable
* Experience in shipping/logistics environment is desirable
* Working in a busy office environment
* Understanding of requirements for customs/other authoritiesComputer literate.
* GCSE or equivalent in English and Mathematics
