Subsidence Engineer / Surveyor
Full job description
F1rst Commercial Recruitment
Salary: £48,000 – £58,800 per year
Subsidence Engineer/Surveyor required for very busy insurance specialist based in Greater Manchester. This can be a home-based role with the occasional need to visit the offices, or if you live local to Greater Manchester, it can be office based.
Your character, personality and cultural fit is just as important as your experience as the team works well together so strong communication, support and understanding is vital to the departments success, especially if you are remote based.
We are also looking for an appropriate professional building qualification such as; MICE, MRICS, MCIOB, MIStrucE, MCABE or progressing towards this to back up your experience. Our client is happy to support further qualifications for the right person, although the more the experience, the better.
The job is desk based and involves taking responsibility for managing a portfolio of domestic and commercial subsidence claims through diagnosis, mitigation and repair, working closely with both surveyors and supply partners that are operating in the field.
Our client is quite modern in their approach to business and is leading the way with alternatives to established suppliers in the market by utilising the very latest web and mobile technologies to maximum benefit.
If you are experienced in this area you will no doubt be used to diagnosing the cause of damage to property on site and in person.
The big difference with this role is that you’ll be doing the same, only you’ll be doing it from your desk, using the latest technology to cut out the travel.
You’ll be able to make diagnosis from video and other relevant information that has been collated and help speed up the claims through to resolution and to the benefit of all parties.
It is essential that you have a detailed knowledge of structural defects affecting buildings and the ability to diagnose the cause of damage without visiting, based on information collected by others.
We are looking for someone:
* with the relevant qualifications
* who has experience of surveying or working in loss adjusting with related subsidence knowledge
* who is fed up of being out on the road, travelling up and down the country all the time
* who enjoys subsidence and would prefer to do it from an office or the comfort of their own home
Come what may, you would need to be a good negotiator, with good spelling/grammar and communication skills. Whilst there are plenty of templated letters you would use, there is also a need to produce bespoke emails and reports to clients so this aspect of the role is important.
Although the company is based in Greater Manchester, you can be based anywhere in the UK as the client is happy to offer remote home working for the right person/skills.
If you work from the office, the environment is very friendly with low staff turnover and the team all have good work ethics and an equivalent sense of humour!
What is on offer:
* Salary: £48,000 – £58,800(depending on experience and qualifications)
* Training
* 3% contributory pension
* 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
* Career advancement
* Support with obtaining professional qualifications
