Steelwork Site Engineer / Surveyor

Our client is a very successful structural and architectural steelwork fabricator with an excellent reputation and full order book. They now require a Site Engineer / Surveyor to help produce site surveys for extension to existing work but also setting out grids, foundation and datum levels etc for structures and frames ensuring they are accurate from foundation bolt layouts, to level setting out and ongoing line and level of the full erection process through to handover stage. Working alongside company site and erection teams, liaising with all relevant staff back at the office.

Based from the Head office in Oxfordshire with site visits as required. Occasional overnight stay may be required.

Someone that has solid experience working with steelwork would be ideal but we will consider engineers that are from a general construction or civil engineering background but they MUST have experience of working on steelwork structures and general steelwork as part of the construction..

Projects do vary and range from industrial and architectural stairs to residential balconies to full steel framed industrial buildings.

Typical duties will include;
Carrying site surveys at various stages throughout the construction process.
Setting out, foundations, line and level etc.
Attending site meetings as needed.
Communicating with site teams and internal staff.
Keeping records / logging data.
Assisting with quality checks.

The successful candidate must have a proven track record doing surveys and setting out using various methods including with lasers/total stations.

A full driving license is essential for this position.

This is a full time PAYE permanent role and so candidates seeking contract or short term work will not be considered.
