Salary: £72,000 – £96,000 per year
Role: Software Engineering Manager (AWS)
Package: £60k – £80k + Car + Bonus
Location: Remote first, home-based, travel when needed
Description:
Servant leadership appointment, someone who is team focused – plays for their team, reporting directly into the Global Head of Engineering.
The role will lead a team of c 15-20 Software Engineers who are building scalable services and are focused on everything AWS (Amazon Web Services) Serverless.
The role will lead a distributed team of high performers for a globally recognised iconic brand within the retail space.
Responsibilities:
Line manage x4 Software Engineering Leads with an overall AWS Serverless Software team of c 20 (and growing quickly)
Ensure team are supported with the latest and greatest tools and certifications
Ensure best practice for standards, policies and patterns
Workload estimation for and ambitious team
Skills / Experience Required:
Experience leading Software Engineering teams focused on AWS (Serverless would be a huge bonus)
Technical background, having worked technically with some form of modern OO language
A fundamental understanding of the principles of Agile, Lean & Kanban
Outstanding people leadership with first-class communication skills
Experienced in delivering change within an Agile environment including utilising principles such as CI, CD and TDD
Not essential, but would be great
AWS certified (or willing to undertake)
Knowledge / familiarity with Domain Driven Design
