Edge Careers are representing their client a Top 10 main contractor who operate on a regional basis from a number of regional offices around the country. We have recently partnered with their North East region and we are actively assisting in strengthening the Operational Team within the patch.

Their region currently enjoys a turnover of £80 million and executes projects ranging in value from £1 million up to £18 million, both new build and refurbishments.

As a Site Manager, you will be site based, have full operational responsibility for a section or sub-contract remit of a large value scheme (£15m) and report to a site based Project Manager/Senior Site Manager.

Alternatively you may be a direct number 2 on a project up to the value of £8 million and work closely with a site based Senior Site Manager.

Your Role as a site manager will involve:

Implementing and maintaining the contractors Construction Policies for Sustainability, Health and Safety
Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems;
Reviewing methods of working, alternative materials etc in order to maximise commercial profitability
Providing leadership, and energy
Controlling prelims, and project budgets
Ensuring the construction works run to strict programme
Managing pre construction activities
Lead regular site meetings with all interested parties
Conducting regular site safety checks
Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problemsTo be successful in your application as a site manager you will have:

Commercial and financial awareness
Excellent interpersonal skills
Understanding of different contracts e.g.NEC, JCT
Strong leadership and management skills
